Leading New Recess

Our 5th grade students took a leadership position in organizing a Recess Refresh. They had a project to figure out what was needed and wanted for recess this year. They presented to their class, then grade level, including the principal, and finally to me, the PE teacher. I worked with them on finding out what we could order, and why some things were not possible. I had them problem-solve their ideas and come up with their final wish list.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students did all the heavy lifting. The adults just made them get a little more in-depth regarding what would and would not be feasible.
