We started a Fuel Up to Play 60 club this year, which has turned into a great success! With the money we earned last year, we bought a WiiU, an exercise bike, and a water bottle fountain. Starting at about 6 kids at the first meeting of the year, we are now at a minimum of 15 kids each time we meet. We dance, exercise, do pedometer challenges, bike, and play.
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
1. Offered a club
2. More teacher involvement
3. More school announcements and signage
What improvements have you seen at your school?
There is a lot more signage, school announcements, and more adults involved this year. We have a huge poster advertising Fuel Up to Play 60 in the gym now.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
On days when other teachers cannot help me supervise, there are some older students who have stepped up to help organize activities, monitor, and guide the younger kids. They have been a huge help to me!
