Our wellness week at Lukeville Upper Elementary School was an absolute success. Throughout the school week, we had a myriad of events: Moving Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Water Goals Wednesday, Turn it Up Thursday, and Family Fitness Friday. On Moving Monday, we did different exercises throughout our school day. On Tasty Tuesday, every student was responsible for bringing a healthy snack to school, and the cafeteria workers made salad for every teacher. On Water Goal Wednesday, each student and teacher was told to bring a bottle of water to school. Turn it Up Thursday was a day for every student and teacher to wear their favorite team sport jersey; during the last part of our day, we played Choppa Style over the intercom and every student was allowed to do the dance. Family Fitness Friday was bringing your parents to PE day, which was a huge success. Our wellness week was great, and we look forward to expanding on each day next school year.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Administration and faculty developed the idea of celebration. With the help of students and community we were able to celebrate our health and wellness.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

This was our first year to do this and didn't realize when we invited the parents to join us that they ALL would show up! We are building at our school and hope that next year we will have more space to be able to include more activities for the parents to join in.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goal with hard work and organization. I believe being organized paid off. The whole week was organized and planned. we had a variety of activities throughout the week.
