This year for our Fuel Up to Play 60 kickoff we held a Mac and Cheese food drive to help stock our district's Food for Thought Pantry. Food for Thought builds food bags each week to provide for families that don´t have food on the weekends. Our fuel up team made a video, posters, and school announcements to promote this event. In addition to collecting at school, we collected at the home volleyball and football games the week of the event. Bobbie, our school mascot, even became a member of FUTP 60 and took selfies with our students and families posing with our homemade Mac and Cheese! We collected 570 boxes of Mac and Cheese. The donations were enough to fill the food bags for 2 weeks. We also began promoting Huddle for I00, encouraging our Travis family to commit to volunteering at least I00 minutes in 6 weeks. This event was a great start to kickoff our school year and helped nourish our community.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Our goal was to provide Mac and Cheese for our districts Food for Thought food pantry. We had 570 boxes of Mac and Cheese donated by students and faculty. Our FUTP 60 team promoted the event through twitter, school broadcast, and posters.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Our students created unity by coming together and helping feed students that are in need of food on the weekends.
