Access to Healthy Foods

We gave out milk at our school's trunk or treat. We have been doing this for a couple of years, but this year we talked more about why this was a healthy choice and how that milk gets to our tables. We are also trying to have a dairy farmer visit our school or see if we can visit a dairy farm.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Our students are more aware of how the milk is produced and where it comes from. Our district started using milk pouches instead of cartons and the students learned why. The cost and the effect on the landfills was another topic that we discussed.
