Physical Activity Participation

At the beginning of the year, several girls were not able to complete 1/2 mile without stopping. At this point, the girls have now completed a mile run without stopping at time of less than 10 mins. Perseverance pays off.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The goal was accomplished by continuing to do this activity 3 times a day and giving pep talks about how to believe in themselves and not quit.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

At this point, the plan is to get their times better. We will also be adding distance to the runs, in which the girls will be encouraged not to stop

How did students and adults work together as a team?

I tried to motivate the girls each time they went for a run. using words and phrases like "believe", "trust yourself", "you can do this", "don't let your mind take over your body". Many of the girls have listened and have accomplished more than expected.
