Maldonado Dairy Day
We had a Dairy Day at Maldonado. We promoted dairy at the school by offering a milk taste test with local Arizona milk. We also worked to promote kindness. Students who had milk with their lunch received a fun and colorful straw with a kind flower attached. The goal was to promote dairy and kindness. Our next step is our visit from a local dairy farmer. We already have him scheduled to come next week and give our entire school a milking demonstration.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our school SHAC (through Pima county) worked together to create a day that promoted kindness and dairy. We are a team of adults here at the school who work together to come up with new fun ideas to promote FUTP 60 at Maldonado.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will make this Play last beyond the school year by continuing it into next year. We already have our dairy farmer scheduled to visit and plan on setting up the dairy/kindness day again next year.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

I feel our students are now aware that they need three servings of dairy per day (milk, cheese and yogurt).
