The Southwest Dairy Mobile Museum visited our school to teach our students all about Farm to Table. Students were introduced to "Marshmallow the Moo Cow" and had the privilege of seeing her give milk. The speaker helped the students understand all about milk production and the process that occurs to get the liquid from the cow to the table. Emphasis was placed on the nutritional value our bodies gain from drinking milk.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
Teachers contacted the Southwest Dairy Museum in Sulphur Springs and scheduled a date and time for them to visit our school.
What improvements have you seen at your school?
Students understand the important vitamins and nutrients that are found in milk. They were encouraged to drink milk daily either in the school cafeteria or at home. Students also understand the process of how milk is made by the cow and eventually makes it to the table.
