Maryville Leads KY in Miles!

Maryville has gotten off to a great start for the 2015-2016 school year. We have been taking time each PE class and during recess to take part in the 100 Mile Club. Students collect fluff balls to track their laps. Students are averaging over 1.1 miles per PE class.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will offer Mighty Milers and 100 Mile Club each week in gym and once each week in recess.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We have teachers who track laps at recess and then we also track our laps once or more in gym each week. We make running fun with music and with games!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students track their laps by picking up fluff balls each lap or bean bags from a basket. Once the basket is empty, the class has jogged over 8 miles. The students then repeat the process as many times as they can in a 10 minute session.
