Our students participated in Marathon Kids training club after school. These students and many others participated in the Mayor's Mile Challenge. Students ran or walked with their family to raise money for the local PAL for the town of Davie. Our school won the award for the most participation in the event.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We hope to join other walk/run events in the local area during this year and for years to come! The students loved the event and cannot wait to do it again!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are more excited about exercising and running instead of sitting at recess. They are having races at recess.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Many students live far away from school. The event started at 8:00 on a Sunday and it was hard to get them to school. Students offered to carpool to help their friends get to the event.
