Meeting an Artisan Cheese Maker
Anne and John Reese are owners and chefs of their own business named Black Radish in Alexandria, Ohio. They make artisan cheeses and jam. They talked to the Foods and Family and Consumer Sciences classes about their business. They also own the cheese store in the North Market in Columbus, Ohio. Students learned about artisan cheese making, the dairy farm in Cambridge OH where their milk supply comes from, and entrepreneurship.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Scheduling Anne and John Reese to come to school and talk about their artisan cheese business took 6 months.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students asked great questions, learned about and tasted different types of cheese.
