This year, we participated in National Walk to School Day. We created posters about the event about two weeks before the big day. We also sent home fliers about it. On the day of the event, we met at a park down the street from our school. Our Mayor met us there. She said a few things about the benefits of walking to school. Some of our FUTP 60 Crew members also shared some benefits. Then we started our walk to school. Along the way we stopped twice for a dance break. When we got to our school, everyone that participated got a free breakfast, which consisted of cereal and fruit. It was a great event that was pretty easy to manage.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goals by working together. The students did most of the work. They made the posters, set up the breakfast, spoke at the park, and led the walk. Our program advisor just ordered the food and helped with whatever the FUTP 60 Crew needed. We also started planning a month ahead so we were very organized and had lots of time to do everything we needed.
