Ardmore Elementary was able to secure our first taste test this year with Fuel Up to Play 60! A local apple orchard delivered three different types of apples for our students to taste: Fuji, Gala, and Jonagold. Together with our Student Leadership Team and parent volunteers, we sliced and delivered apple samples to each of our 13 classrooms. After the taste test, we had each class vote on their favorite Michigan Apple that they tested. This was an exciting first school-wide taste test for our students. Our Student Leadership Team was excited to deliver a healthy snack to our students. All of the leftover apples were used to supply a healthy snack for our after-school Healthy Kids Club . Ardmore Elementary is looking forward to making the 2015-2016 school year healthier.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our Student Leadership Team helped slice and deliver apples to all classrooms with the help or our parent volunteers. This was a Student Leadership Team-led event.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Our Student Leadership Team will continue to lead school-wide taste tests for all of our students. We have a large parent volunteer team that is eager to help out whenever we need a few extra hands.
