Mighty Milers
Our school has been on a mission to get up and get moving at recess. We take part in a program called Mighty Milers through the New York Road Runners Foundation. When students go to recess they first complete a few laps and then go play the game or activity of their choice. To date our 192 children who are participating have logged 5,793 miles. The children really enjoy this time and look forward to seeing just how far we can go as a school.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students helped map out the course and put out the flags which mark it every day. Adults walk with the kids and submit mileage logs weekly to the program advisor who enters them into the database.
