Milk It Recognizing Students for Choosing Dairy
During our state testing week, we decided to recognize students who were Milking It. Our SWAT team came together to create a poster of why it is important to Milk It. We displayed the poster in our cafeteria along with our Milk it! commitment poster. During lunches, we recognized students that had two or more dairy items on their lunch plate. We recognized them by giving them a prize for choosing a healthy food.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goal by working with the school SWAT team and the SHAC team. We were also able to receive prizes to reward are students. We received the prizes from FUTP 60. We also found out from the cafeteria if at least two dairy options would be made available for students.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We plan to continue this next year to get our students excited during testing time. We want to work with FUTP 60 and our district to get prizes to recognize students for choosing healthy foods. We hope the Milk it! campaign continues next spring so we can participate again.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our SWAT team was able to create a poster with a SHAC member to be displayed in the cafeteria. They wanted to share with the other students why it is important to Milk It! The SWAT team also worked with the SHAQ team to pass out rewards at their grade level to students who had two dairy items on their plate.
