Millbrooke Brain Break!

Maggie Gechter,   Millbrook Elementary
Physical Activity Participation,  Student Leadership

My FUTP 60 students put together a brain break video for all students in our school. I was able to put it on the drive that all the teachers share so they could access it easily and play it at anytime! The students love seeing some of their 5th grade role models being healthy and fun in the video and it makes them want to participate more! Teachers play this video at least once a month, if not more, for their students.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Students encourage their teachers to play this brain break during brain break times.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students came up with all the exercises for this video. They even selected the music and practiced the routine many times in order to get it to look so great!

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

One of the biggest challenges was having teachers get on board to play this brain break in their classroom. We had our FUT60 reps talk to their teachers and other teachers about how much fun the video is and got most of the teachers to play it!
