Mondovi is Moving!

Our FUTP 60 Leadership team set up ways to get students and the community moving! They started with brain breaks and the virtual field trip during classes. Then they organized a community night at Action City, where anyone from our town could participate in activities like laser tag, Ninja warrior races, and trampoline games. Finally, the team proposed a recess plan to administration to include activity time during the lunch break with the available spaces at school.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The leadership team worked closely with our advisors and had to present a plan to administration on how we could get these activities to work. They also talked to teachers to figure out schedules and find supervision for activities.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We created, copied, and sent flyers home for our community event, made announcements for brain breaks and sent the links to teachers for the virtual field trip. We also compared schedules of all three buildings to figure out spaces for our recess plan to work. We met over lunch once a week for several months to stay on track.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We set up the activities to build off each other. We are starting the recess plan fourth quarter and have announcements and other milk magic activities in between to keep people going. Once the schedule is set for recesses, we should be able to continue this for years to come.
