Morley Snack Shack
The Snack Shack is a nutritious snack option run by 5th grade students and teachers at Morley Elementary School. Every other Friday, Student Leadership provides the opportunity for all students to purchase a snack or more than one for under $1 each. There are 5 stations located throughout the building, ranging from 2-5 students running each station, depending on the location. There are 2 adults who help throughout the process if the students have any questions or need assistance. Student leadership learns valuable customer service and economic/business skills. They also learn how to make choices for snacks for other students and learn about how each snack could impact their healthy choices for the day.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students are in charge of the Snack Shack station after school. They are the ones who organize the lines, count change, and keep track of any extra product. Adults of the Leadership team help to assist with any questions. Adults help to organize the materials and money so they are ready for each location of the Snack Shack. They work together to find out total cost of the items and the amount of profit they made from their event.
