Morning Fitness Club

We started a Morning Fitness Club for students here at Legacy Elementary school. Being in the Midwest, there are many mornings when it is cold and the students are not interested in playing outside on the playground. We also saw the opportunity in this chunk of time before school where many students are here and could really benefit from 30 minutes of vigorous exercise before they start their studies. The fitness club is divided up into two groups, K-2 and 3-5, and each has access to the gym one day a week before school. On those days, the students participate in a series of high intensity stations, similar to a circuit routine. We truly believe this program will help our students with their mental, emotional and physical health and it has been an excellent addition to our learning community.
