Our success story at Zavala Elementary has been to create a dancing environment for our PE classes. With the use of Go Noodle and Just Dance Videos we have tried to create a class culture where we believe movement matters. We ask the kids to get creative in their movements and/or follow along with our Go Noodle/ Just Dance videos as warm ups. Our kids really love to dance! We’ve also created a Wall of Champs picture board to keep our kids motivated and display pictures around our school to highlight our best dancers and classes. We strongly believe using these creative movement videos has helped us to improve our class behaviors and attention spans in class. It has also strengthened our classroom cohesion and also served as a great transition to start our activity for the day.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goals by coaches and students working together. We as coaches set the expectations for our class and we made sure our students were aware of those expectations. We also set out class/student incentives for our kids to keep them motivated and to keep pushing them to try their best every time.
