Moving Teachers are Teaching and Moving at Rockbrook!
At Rockbrook Elementary, the staff was challenged with implementing a Brain Break from the Fuel Up Activity Break Idea Board. Teachers picked a Brain Break during their PLC time to implement with their class. Students got to share their creative side in 4th grade. Mrs. Crom's class danced to the "Boogie Moves" as they spread out across the classroom to show off their vintage moves. In 3rd grade, Mrs. Gunnoe's class, worked out with "Take a Seat" break. The student had camouflaged some squats while following the sitting routine. The students pumped the blood back from their legs back into their brain and readied themselves for optimal learning. The pre-school classes worked on stretching it out. While the kindergarten students worked on fine motor skills by drawing their name in the air with "Write Your Name". Teachers and students have been very excited about implementing these in short durations during the day. We are growing minds and bodies at Rockbrook Elementary. We appreciate our principal encouraging the staff to sign up for the ideas to “break” our students minds.
