Our students participated in National Walk to School Day on October 7, 2015. Students walked and biked to school that morning. We involved each grade level. As students began to arrive, they took their place around the front circle of our school and began walking laps. The cool thing is, parents voluntarily got involved too!! Students walked from 7:30 up until the bell rang at 8:10. Once the bell rang, students enjoyed a healthy breakfast with their choice of fresh fruit, milk, and juice. The community is now involved and we are planning another event in the spring!!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

I have seen an improvement in the fitness level among the entire student population. Students are buying in to the program and bringing healthy snacks from home.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We as a school have gotten much support and collaboration from our community. Everyone wants to be involved. We're planning another event in the spring. A bigger event!!
