Neihardt Elementary has made our Wellness Tailgate an annual part of our culture. We invite the cross-country team from the local high school to encourage endurance running, families prepare healthy tailgate snacks, Student Ambassadors run the tailgate games, staff volunteer to help with tailgate games and prize table, and the whole student body/families/past students are invited to this amazing free community event. This is our 5th year now, and the entire community looks forward to the Wellness Tailgate. It truly brings the community together and brings advocacy and awareness to the need for student wellness.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Student Ambassadors and teachers worked together to run the entire event. Students experience leadership, being in charge of all events. Teachers volunteer to support the Ambassadors to make the event function.
