New Richmond Kick Off Event
We did our kick-off event in which we had our entire school walking on the track. Every 2 minutes or so, we'd have our Fuel Up to Play 60 team lead our school in a brain break activity. We had music playing and kids were having a great time as well as getting steps in before the school day even started. I have had multiple teachers and students ask if we could start every week off with walking on the track! The bonus was at the end, our local McDonald's had donated 900 Go-gurts so we could give one to every student!!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

This is definitely something we will do again. The students really enjoyed it and the teachers thought all the students were more focused and ready to start the day. It helped that we had really nice weather too!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students really took a leadership role of preparing for this activity and running it to make sure it went smoothly. The teachers and staff did a great job of supporting what the students were trying to do because getting 870 students walking on the track at the same time and doing what they are supposed to be doing is no small feat.
