This year, the Fuel Up to Play 60 club teamed up with the student council to make sure students and families in our community have healthy, nutritious meals. There are families and students in our community that are food insecure. At Northern Guilford Middle School, we held a food drive to help provide food and meals for those families in our community. Our students reached their goal and helped make sure that families and students at our school and community would have access to healthy food choices. The food drive event provided our FUTP 60 club with leadership opportunities and made our club members aware of this growing need in our community. This program provided empathy amongst our FUTP 60 club and the desire to do something to help. Our FUTP 60 students are champion human beings!
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The FUTP 60 team members worked together to brainstorm and come up with solutions to fight hunger amongst fellow students and their families. The leadership team provided the guidance and direction to make a meaningful and long lasting difference in our community.
