Northern Guilford Middle School partners with the community to make a winning team

The Northern Guilford Middle School FUTP 60 program works closely with the school administration, student leaders and community leaders to provide a wide range of nutritional and physical activities throughout the year. These events give participants fun and engaging opportunities to learn about how essential low- and non-fat dairy products, proper nutrition and physical activity are to optimal health and wellbeing.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students, school administrators, nutrition specialists, and community leaders "team up" to make an unbeatable team. From the initial planning stages through the implementation of the events, all work closely together to make the activity successful and to ensure maximum participation.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The NGMS FUTP 60 team provides a wide variety of special programs throughout the school year for students, our school, and the community. Some examples are before home football games we host Healthy Tailgate Parties, Family Activity Nights, FUTP 60 Health and Fitness Carnival 5k and 1 mile fun run/walk, FUTP 60 Northern Unite Night.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The FUTP 60 program at NGMS has made a long lasting, healthy and meaningful impact for our students, school and community. FUTP 60 has made our school a healthier place for our students to learn and for our teachers to teach.
