The Fuel Up to Play 60 Team had a nutritious taste test for all students at Blackshere Elementary. Healthy snacks included peanut butter (sun butter) and jelly sushi, apple bagels, pizza tortillas and veggie caterpillars. Culinary students from our feeder school (North Marion High School) prepared the foods while students observed and listened to a presentation from their head chef. It was so much fun! When they finished preparing the snacks, all students were able to sample them and were provided the recipes to take home. They enjoyed it so much!
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The adults involved with Fuel Up to Play 60 and the culinary school worked together by planning this event. Adults came up with some sample food ideas and the students were presented with the menu to see if they approved or had other ideas. We all worked together to plan the date, the menu, and how to focus on serving the entire school. The students learned a lot about teamwork and how to get things accomplished!
