National Pumpkin Day is October 26th and what a better way to celebrate than by taste testing pumpkin ice-cream, pumpkin fluff and pumpkin muffins. The 6th grade Fuel Up to Play 60 team learned that pumpkins are a member of the squash family and have many nutrients. Pumpkins are full of antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, potassium, copper, folate, iron, magnesium and fiber.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The 6th Grade Fuel Up to Play 60 team submitted pumpkin recipes. We voted on the 3 we would like to taste test. So on October 26th, the team brought in pumpkin ice-cream, pumpkin fluff and pumpkin muffins to taste test. Pumpkin ice-cream was their favorite, then pumpkin fluff and last but still very tasty pumpkin muffins.
