With the funds from a grant that our school district received, I was able to purchase new equipment for both PE activities and recess games. Using the new equipment, I was able to teach new games that the kids really enjoyed.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Using the new equipment, I taught students new games and activities that they hadn't done before during recess or PE. My goal with this was to re-energize some kids during their recess times, especially those who may have gotten to the point of being bored at recess. This goal was accomplished. I had more students than ever before coming into the gym to grab a few new pieces of equipment to take out to recess. Along with recess, my PE classes and Field Day were also impacted. Any time there is new equipment, students are more motivated. We used the new beach balls for Staff vs Students volleyball game on Field Day. We used the jump ropes and dodgeballs for various Field Day stations. Overall, the funds were not only essential to the success of Field Day, but an overall revitalization during recess and PE activity time.
