One Mile Every Week

The object of this club is for the students get a better understanding of how running can improve their cardiovascular endurance and physical literacy. The students try to run or walk a mile once a week so they can build up their endurance; they try not to walk the whole mile so they can improve little by little.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The students improve every week by walking less and jogging more each time they try to do the mile run.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students encourage and motivate each other to walk or run the mile in less time every time they attempt to do it. If a student walks a lot of time or has problems running for a long period of time, they motivate them and push them to do better each week.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The challenges that I face are students that get frustrated because they can't run the whole mile or they can't walk it. I motivate them to try their best and keep trying every week to have better results. By the time they get surprised about how much better they got every week of running or walking a mile.
