Open House Fitness FUN!

During our Annual Open House, we decided to set up a FUTP 60 fun zone in the gym! While parents and families visited classrooms, students and other community members were welcomed into the gym for some fitness fun! We had a hula hoop contest, oversize bowling, basket races, and gave away cool Fuel Up to Play 60 prizes!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and adults worked together by helping set up the games and volunteering to help organize. We had older students helping younger students, which I loved, because it was a great way to role model healthy behaviors.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goal by promoting our Open House and inviting community members and families to it. We also accomplished helping parents out by doing fun fitness activities with the kids while they spoke with teachers. Everyone found it very helpful and lots of fun!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

We've seen students take a more proactive approach to healthy behaviors. They've learned how to make fitness fun, and also how to make better food choices.
