Success with Funds

With Funds, we purchased a booth where our students can eat breakfast and lunch. The booth only sits about 4-6 students and we had it highlighted up on our stage in the cafeteria. In order to eat at the booth, students have to complete challenges set up throughout the year or be a role model by eating their fruits and vegetables, drinking their milk, or trying new things. The students love it and feel so special when they get to pick a friend and eat up on the stage overlooking everyone else in the cafeteria, and in a sparkly green booth!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The booth will be used every year. We hope to be awarded another grant where we can purchase an additional booth.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

It was challenging to get students to try new fruits and vegetables. It was also difficult to monitor what the students were eating. We were able to pull some of the staff from out of the kitchen and have them go out and interact with the students.
