Our First Two Student Ambassadors!

I am eager to tell you about our first two student Ambassadors at Garden Lakes Elementary. A and B have gone above and beyond to make Fuel Up to Play 60 a HUGE success for our school! They engaged 900+ students, teachers, and parents, getting all of them excited, educated, and involved in our Ramp Up for Recess Play! Everyone, including our principal, was having fun participating in high-energy games that included dancing, a football toss, basketball, soccer kick, cornhole, hula hooping, jump roping, and cheerleading. They organized, promoted and executed our TEAM... DBackBlasters#1, to a V.I.C.T.O.R.Y.! Plus as a TEAM they created dances with new artistic lyrics, "All About That...Grains" and new inspired catchphrases, "Eat Right, Be Bright"! These girls have been extremely organized, spirited cheerleaders, and strong role models. With their leadership skills and positive attitudes they have many kids and adults cheering them on. They are the FUTP 60 "Girls on Fire"!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

A and B have put enthusiasm and a sense of adventure back into our school. They have rallied everyone at our school together, encouraging them all to make wiser and healthier food choices and empowering each person to get UP and MOVE!

How did you accomplish your goals?

All of the goals A and B have set for our school have been a "TOUCHDOWN" so far! They have put in many early mornings, late nights at school, and made it fun for everyone. Their drive fueled them to accomplish each one of their FUTP 60 goals!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Their passion for FUTP 60 is spreading throughout our district! They are getting the word out at PTA, District Board, and Wellness Community meetings. They started their own FUTP 60 club at GL! Their dedication to this program will continue each year.
