Let's Dance!

Student leaders had worked with Advisors in order to organize a flash mob that would occur during lunch one day in the cafeteria. These students who organized it were scattered throughout the room during the day they had chosen. Then, we changed the speakers' music to play a chosen song as all of the student leaders broke into dance. Once they started, other students couldn't help but join in to the dancing craze that had started. Tons of students, as well as some of the staff, danced and everyone seemed to agree that it was a great experience.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and adults had to work together in both the organizing of the event as well as the execution of it. Everything from getting the project apporved to showing off their moves; students and adults were working hand in hand.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We had managed to get a large amount of people up and dancing. We had expected only a few to join in, but a surprisingly large portion abandoned their seats to dance to their hearts' content.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We use this Play to springboard into future events. We may not do another flash mob, but more people are asking to have large-scale dances. If support remains this strong, then we'll be able to keep people dancing as well as participating in other events.
