Overnight Apple Pie Oats

For our success story, our school held a food tasting. We prepared overnight apple pie oats. This consisted of healthy ingredients: vanilla yogurt, quick oats, unsweetened applesauce, cinnamon, and low fat milk. The oats were served cold. The students were given a four ounce sample. Overall, the students really liked the oats, but they requested it to be warm next time. They would like to see this food added to the breakfast menu.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

We faced the challenge of getting the students to try the food. We overcame the challenge by convincing the students to just give it a try. Also, the students who were reluctant were convinced by classmates that it "wasn't that bad."
