Access to Healthy Foods, Success with Funds, Teamwork
Students were given the opportunity to make overnight oatmeal which included oats, milk, yogurt, and toppings such as apples, cinnamon, and raisins. They tasted the oatmeal the next day and loved the flavor. Each student was given the recipe to take home so they could make it with their families.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The teachers helped the students make their overnight oatmeal and encouraged them to continue to eat a healthy breakfast each morning.
What improvements have you seen at your school?
Students have stated they love oatmeal and will be making overnight oatmeal at home.
How did you accomplish your goals?
Our school was able to purchase the supplies with the FUTP 60 grant. We had the students make their own overnight oatmeal and get to taste it the next morning.
