It is a wonderful feeling as a teacher to watch your students continue to understand the importance of staying physical fit. Each year as I implement the important of staying physically fit, it is my goal that all students will take this concept and “RUN” with it, not only at school, but outside of the school environment. I have had many students excited about sharing with me what they do outside of school when it comes to staying fit. By them sharing their excitement, their positive energy flows over to the other students. Each week I have one student from each grade level share a quick story about how exercising benefits them in their daily life. They also talk about making good food choices, eating breakfast and how that has helped them feel better throughout the day. Peer talking is important and implementing this quick “sharing” time in my class has allowed their friends, my students, to see the importance of staying physical fit.

How did you accomplish your goals?

By providing a positive energy in my class and being "role" model for my students by participating with them in class and staying in shape.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are becoming more active and wanting to share their stories with others.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

By staying consistent and stressing the importance of staying fit, not just now, but throughout their entire life.
