As we begin our journey with Fuel Up to Play 60, we targeted our Kindergarten and Grade 4 Students for the In-Class Physical Activity Breaks. Teachers in both grades reviewed the activity list and conducted the activities in their classrooms. The overall feedback was very positive. The students and teachers had a great time. Now we will implement the program with the students in Grades 1, 2, 3 and 5. We have 1,130 students in all. We are a big school and each class can only go to the gym once a week. It is our hope that the In-Class Physical Activities can continue to be a success as we approach the winter months.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We have not completed our goal of getting our entire school involved. However, we are approaching our goal as we move forward. More classes will be involved and our student council will take the lead in implementing our program school-wide.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Our Principal and Student Council Advisor will make morning announcements to remind teachers and students to conduct in-class activities on a daily basis.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

We have not faced any challenges as of yet
