P.E. Showcase Night

The Physical Education Department at Orange Grove Elementary had the pleasure of hosting a parent/student involvement night. We gave the parents a glimpse of what it’s like during their students’ ancillary time in P.E. We went over the warm-up and stretches before showing the parents the Fuel Up to Play 60 introduction video. After the video, we invited the parents to join their children on the floor to jump rope and hula hoop. There was also a table set up with information for the parents to take home, including information like how to log onto the Fuel Up to Play 60 website, an activity log calendar, our P.E. brochure, the fruit of the month (grapes), and some healthy treats for everyone to enjoy. This was truly a fun-filled and interactive night.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students got their parents to join in while jumping rope and hula hooping.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The students are excited to log their activities on the website. They are becoming more active outside of school.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We offered the students prizes if they could get their parents to join them on the floor and jump rope or hula hoop.
