Our ambassadors kicked off the Fuel up to Play program in the middle school with a taste test of peach smoothies from peaches that were picked this summer by our ambassadors and their parents as part of their Farm to School nutrition play. The ambassadors helped put the Play together and served the smoothies to the middle school students.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The cafeteria staff helped get the blenders and cups that we needed to do the taste test. They also loaned me utensils needed to make the taste test go smoothly. The administration gave us permission to serve the smoothies in the morning to the students. Our ambassadors helped put the taste test together and some of the parents and teachers helped make the smoothies.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The students we gave the smoothies to absolutely loved them and it introduced them to fresh locally grown peaches.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The only challenge we had was finding a good day to do the taste test.
