We did a smoothie activity in which we used fruit from school that was left over from a few days before. We used oranges, blueberries, bananas and apples for our fruit in the smoothies. We also used milk from the school and strawberry yogurt for the base. Students loved the orange banana the best.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
We worked as a team to get everything organized and going. Some students made the smoothies, some recruited students to come check out the smoothies, and others helped pass out smoothies at the station.
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
We lack overall school support for the program. This is something we have struggled with for a while. We hope to continue to improve by participating in Plays.
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
I plan on implementing Fuel Up to Play 60 in our PE department as part of the curriculum.
