Been great to watch our 4th and 5th grade Fuel Up to Play 60 kids develop true leadership qualities practicing skills they will use for the rest of their lives! Our kids took over jobs normally held by parent volunteers as they became Project Fit America Coaches during recesses. PFA, as it is called, is an outdoor weight room brought to our school via a grant in 2010. Students work out on one of the seven fitness stations trying to reach one of our four fitness levels: bronze, silver, gold, and KONG. Our FUTP 60 kids now work alongside our parent volunteers to test, coach, and motivate the rest of their peers. How cool is that!!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

See above.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Students are tested and fitness scores are recorded. Best part about the program is that is is ongoing not just a one day deal...we can use this format all year long!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
