"PIE" is a book that is being read by our whole school. We are doing this as a community project and to help the reading levels of the students. This book is about a lady that becomes famous for her pies. We are having a contest to bake pies at school and home and having an eating celebration with the pies. I think this is a wonderful way to bring the cafeteria into the mix. They are going to bake the pies. We will have a great time trying some of the recipes in the book.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The students are very excited about trying out some of the recipes.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Some of the work is done at home so it would be the parent and child working together, and some is done in the classroom so it is the teacher and children and children with children.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The school sent out letters over e-mail and have been talking to their classes about it.
