Pints to Gallons Challenge for the Great American Milk Drive
Neihardt Elementary supported the Pints to Gallons Challenge. The entire school participated in this challenge by donating change in grade level milk gallons. Each grade competed against each other. The winning grade level received an extra recess for their efforts. Student Ambassadors made daily announcements, made posters, and counted all funds that were donated throughout the week. All funds that were received were donated directly to the Food Bank of the Heartland to provide milk to families in need. The challenge was an opportunity to talk about the importance of providing service to others in the community and how FUTP 60 can be a platform to teach kids how to make a difference.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Neihardt Elementary supported the Pints to Gallons Challenge that donated funds to the local food bank to help provide gallons of milk to families in need. Neihardt's Student Ambassadors set up the challenge daily, made morning announcements, hung up posters, and counted all final donations. Program Advisors organized student jobs for the challenge, provided leadership, and conducted a monthly meeting to explain the purpose and impact of the challenge.
