Plant, Grow, Eat
The past couple of years we have had a garden and the kids have been able to try new vegetables here at school. This year we had the students help with the prepping, planting, care, and cropping of the garden and we have increased the amount of students interested in our gardens and the desire to try the vegetables they have planted. Many of the kids love the cherry tomatoes, and ask to take some home. We have even had some parents ask about the gardens because their kids go home with different vegetables. It is more personal for the kids since they put in some of the work to keep up with the garden.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and adults worked together by getting the garden ready and helping with the prepping, planting, and care of the garden.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

our garden used to get destroyed often over the weekend and now it rarely happens.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We wanted the students to want to eat healthy or at least try healthy foods and the many of our students tried vegetables for the first time and liked them.
