We have started our journey to eating our own vegetables. We spent the afternoon tilling and planting in our garden. We planted all sorts of good things to eat that the kids hadn't thought of before. Mrs. Montoya explained how seeds grow, demonstrated how to plant and what we could expect in the garden. Then we went to work. It was a blast.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our adults and students worked side by side to plant our garden. Mrs. Montoya and our SWAT were on hand to help with any questions and demonstrated planting techniques.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will continue to monitor our garden and take care of it. Students will make observations and write about what they notice. When our vegetables are ready, we will eat them.
