Fuel Up to Play 60 Flash Mob

Chad Bryant,   Antioch Middle School
Physical Activity Participation

For Fuel Up to Play 60, we go into a class and have them do exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, etc. We have the class do each exercise up to 30 seconds. We do this so children's/teens' brains don't overload.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Fairly well. Once the students were able to take the constructive critisism, the flash mobs went much better.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Once our class goes to another class to do a Fuel Up to Play 60 flash mob, that class then will go to another class to do a flash mob.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Getting other teachers to agree to let our class come do a flash mob was a challenge at first. Once they realized that the activity break was beneficial, they were more accepting of it.
