Receiving the Fuel Up to Play 60 grant funds from the Oregon Dairy Council allowed Danebo staff to purchase equipment for use on the playground and in physical education classes. Equipment purchased was specific to Playworks! games and Bethel’s physical education curriculum. Purchasing new wall balls, jump ropes (long for double-dutch and short for individual use), basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, pennies and cones allowed us to ensure that students have the necessary equipment to learn basic skills needed to play the Playworks! games during PE classes and continue to practice those skills during their recess times. Students were excited to receive and use new equipment, which increased engagement in the games and activities as well.
