Prairie Hills Ramp Up for Recess

As a school, each teacher advisor group took a day to Ramp Up our Recess time. The whole school was involved in some form of physical activity. Whether they were riding horses, playing volleyball, dodgeball, or running on the track. All kids in the school got extra recess time. As a result of the success of this activity, we as a school are looking to add more opportunities to Ramp Up our Recess for our kids

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Teachers actively participated with the students. Making this not only a physical activity, but a chance to socially bond with our students as well.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We are looking at adding time to our Teacher Advisor class as part of our regular school day. This would give us time to have additional recess time each day.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The students who use teacher advisor time to visit other classes for extra help in their core classes might loose some of this time. This will have to balance in the schedule.
