A representative of our local dairy farmers visited our school last week. He brought a dairy cow and demonstrated how the cow is milked. The cow was a huge hit with the kids. He discussed the nutritional value of milk and other dairy products. The students learned how the milk is processed before it gets to the grocery store. He took the time to allow them to ask questions and also reminded them about other healthy attributes, including plenty of exercise. The kids were very entertained and learned so much during his visit!.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will discuss the visit in my classes and tie it in with our healthy eating plan.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The best way to accomplish goals is to make it a memorable experience for the kids, and we were able to do that!

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

It was difficult to get all of the students out at a specific time, since it was a half day. Our specials team worked with our principal to make a schedule that worked for everyone.
